Description
This beautiful 12″ mahogany plate is from wood harvested in Honduras in 1947 that passed from a maker of fine furniture to a friend of mine when the business closed and was then gifted to me. It is finished in tung oil and beeswax and has an embedded 1980 British 2 pence coin. A friend suggested I look up the numismatic value of the coin, and it is $899 or possibly more. This boosts the value of the piece considerably to $1100.
