OVERVIEW

Bowl in Half Log – Sycamore

WHAT I PRODUCE IS VERY ECLECTIC AND HAS EVOLVED OVER TIME.

MOST OF THE WOODS I USE ARE EITHER GIFTS FROM OTHER TURNERS OR “FOUND’ FROM TREES THAT ARE BEING REMOVED AT CONSTRUCTION SITES, REMOVED BY TREE SERVICES OR DOWNED IN STORMS. SOME “EXOTIC” WOODS SUCH AS AFRICAN BLACKWOOD, ZEBRAWOOD, AND PINK IVORY ARE PURCHASED FROM DEALERS.

I HAVE DONE A NUMBER OF PIECES USING SEASHELLS FROM SCOTLAND AND NORTH CAROLINA AND AM CURRENTLY WORKING ON A SERIES USING CORAL PIECES COLLECTED FROM BEACHES IN HAWAII.

SOME COMMISSIONED WORKS HAVE BEEN DONE USING MATERIALS FURNISHED BY THE PATRON WHICH HAVE SOME PERSONAL SIGNIFICANCE TO THEM.

THE FOLLOWING IMAGES COVER WORKS IN A VARIETY OF FORMS AND ALL HAVE BEEN DONE SINCE 2005 WHEN I BEGAN TO KEEP A PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORD OF MY WORK.
